To me, winter means doing whatever I can to protect my hair and skin from the damaging effects of the weather. So when it comes to hair, a perfect protective style is a braid. A fun, messy braid can look beautiful styled under a fun winter hat, or you can just throw your hair in a simple braid to prevent from tangling, frizzing or static.

Inspiration:

My inspiration really came from Pinterest, and my model, Tori. She can rock any style and after coloring her hair for the past few months, we created this beautiful gradient of Auburn to a Burnt Orange. I combined a mo-hawk braid with a french-style fishtail braid to accomplish this ethereal, Game of Thrones look!

For my winter look I incorporated cool and icy tones on my model’s eyes paired with a bold fun moisturizing lip. For my model’s hair I put moisturizing products in her hair and created a really textured braid. I wanted to keep her hair and skin moisturized in the cold while adding some fun touches.

Products:

Super Skinny Serum (smoothes and conditions hair leaving hair frizz free in any weather) / Quick slip (flexible hold) / Soft Spray (secures hair with a natural, touchable finish)

Makeup:

NYX Photo Loving Primer / Urban Decay Weightless Foundation / Anastasia Contour Kit in Light / Urban Decay Naked2 Palette Eyes / Ardell Lashes / Anastasia Dip Brow in Chocolate / Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Zealot

My inspiration for this was the White Witch from The Chronicles of Narnia in the sense that she was very pale and had a blue hue to her character as well as her castle. For makeup I wanted a very icy, frostbitten look with a sense of beauty and passion. For hair, I wanted a simple yet romantic style to compliment the makeup and the winter setting.

Hair:

Hot Off the Press / Snow

Makeup:

Ultimate Face Shadow Pallet: Kala, White Wedding, Royal Hawaiian / Ultimate Face Foundation: Ivory Satin / Sugar and rock candy for icy eyebrows.

The winter season is associated with the cold, but it’s never recognized as a time to be bold. ’Tis the season to enhance winter’s soft hues by encompassing vivid colors into the crystalline atmosphere!

Inspiration:

My inspiration for this look stemmed from a blowdry-style I had previously practiced on Lindsey. At the time, she had a light blue/gray hair color, which portrayed a very icy/cool-toned look. The eccentric color truly complimented her sleek and short haircut. Lindsey’s edgy style inspired me to conduct an editorial photoshoot, depicting the incorporation of exotic fashion colors into the frigid, bleak winter season.
