We’re thrilled to announce Charles Riser, co-owner of THE TEMPLE: A Paul Mitchell Partner School and THE TEMPLE Annapolis, was appointed by Governor Larry Hogan and Kelly M. Schulz, Secretary of Labor, Licensing, & Regulation to the Maryland Board of Cosmetology for a three-year term!
“I am honored that the Governor has asked me to serve. John Paul DeJoria says that giving back is the rent we pay for living on this planet,” said Riser. “Giving back is not always giving your time to charity, it can also be for public service. I have always said that people sit every day at tables in offices around this country and make decisions that affect the way we live and run our businesses. I want a seat at that table, and public service is a way to have a seat. I am truly looking forward to the experience.”
The State Board of Cosmetologists licenses and regulates individuals who practice the trade of cosmetology in the State of Maryland, and establishes health and safety standards for the operation of beauty clinic classrooms, and trade. schools.
Charles’ background includes 15 years behind the chair at one of the top clinic classrooms in the United States. In addition to receiving advanced certification from many of the top hair care companies in the world, he ran the back-office, handling the day-to-day decisions that drive every successful business.
Honored for his industry leadership, Charles has been the recipient of the Harms Software Technology Award as well as the Spirit of TSA Award. He is passionately dedicated to the business of beauty and works with a focused drive to move the cosmetology industry forward through top quality education.
