Future Professionals and staff from THE TEMPLE Annapolis: A Paul Mitchell Partner School donated their time and talents for the second year as part of Discovery Communications & TLC’s Say Yes To The Prom program, a nation-wide effort to make prom dreams come true for nearly 800 underserved and academically high-achieving students across the country.
“We were thrilled to once again be involved in the ‘Say Yes To The Prom’ event. Watching the participants get treated to that level of care is very moving. The effects of this effort go beyond simply one night in their lives – it creates lasting change. It is an honor to be a small part of that transformation,” said Sharon Riser, Co-CEO of THE TEMPLE.
Local teens selected from area high schools were invited to the Discovery Channel’s headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland for a day of shopping and pampering.
One of the highlight’s of the event was for participants to get the opportunity to work with Monte Durham of TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress. He was also on hand throughout the day to ensure his personal touch was given to every ensemble before each girl said “yes to the prom dress.”
Future Professional Lizzy Hayden commented, “Being a part of ‘Say Yes to the Prom’ was such a rewarding experience. I loved watching the deserving students choose their dream dresses. It was so heart warming and their beauty truly radiated from the inside out. I’m so glad I got to be a part of their special day!”
