Learn how to provide knowledgeable, compassionate support to guests experiencing hair loss related to cancer treatment. This one-hour course introduces beauty professionals to wig resources, fitting, styling, maintenance, and communication with sensitive clients.

Course topics include:

  • Understanding common concerns related to treatment-related hair loss
  • Communicating with empathy, sensitivity, and professionalism
  • Helping guests identify reputable wig resources and assistance programs that are free
  • Understanding basic cap construction, fit, and comfort
  • Customizing and styling wigs for a natural appearance
  • Basic care for human-hair and synthetic wigs
  • Sanitation and considerations for sensitive scalps
  • Knowing when to refer guests to a healthcare provider or specialized resource

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate documenting one hour of continuing education.
