Goodwill Fashion Show 2013 – Blog

Always a favorite event, this past holiday season, the Temple once again participated in The Holiday Fashion Show of Goodwill! Students created hair and makeup looks, as well as modeled clothing and accessories straight from the Goodwill rack to the high-fashion runway.

In addition to showcasing fashions and the fabulous offerings at Goodwill stores, the event highlighted the second chance individuals receive through participation in Goodwill training and employment programs.

“I LOVED doing the Goodwill Fashion Show! All of the students got to be so creative. It was also even better knowing it was for a good cause. Plus, Goodwill has some rad clothes! I loved everything I wore, and the event was a blast. I would do it again in a heartbeat,” states Megan Lancaster, Temple Future Professional and model.

Arden Ruch, a member of the design team, explains “Working with the Goodwill Fashion Show was an awesome experience! Finding trendy clothes at low prices! Also, it was a good team building project. The fashion show was an overall great experience.”

Money raised through the show supported Goodwill’s mission to provide job training and employment services to people with disabilities and disadvantages here in the Frederick and Carroll County areas.
