Lynmarie Shoup- A Temple Success Story

At THE TEMPLE, we love to dote on our past graduates and share their successes! Lynmarie Shoup, class of 2011, is a perfect example.

Where are you now?

I started Ulta as a Designer 1 in October 2011 in Hagerstown, right after graduating from THE TEMPLE. In July 2012, my store manager approached me with an opportunity of becoming a clinic classroom manager in Winchester, VA. I applied, and was promoted to clinic classroom Manager in July 2012.

What do you love about your job?

I love the training they offer. Twice a year, Ulta offers trend training and many other trainings to keep you current. I also love the walk-in potential. I knew that I wanted to be with a clinic classroom that would have high walk-in traffic. What better place to gather clients and build your book than with walk-ins. Since I loved the atmosphere of THE TEMPLE, I knew I wanted to work with a company that had similar values. We are very similar at Ulta. I always have an open door policy with any of my stylists and employees.

What did attending the Temple do for you in your current role at Ulta?

Attending THE TEMPLE was the best decision I could have ever made for my life and career. It was a friend of mine who recommended THE TEMPLE, and I have never looked back since. THE TEMPLE is more than a school. The values that THE TEMPLE instills in their students is amazing. My core training prepared me for my position that I have today.

I just hired a recent Temple graduate, and I found that anyone who graduates from THE TEMPLE is always well rounded. They are ready to take clients, open to learning, and strive to be the best they can be.

What advice would you give for someone currently in school at THE TEMPLE?

Embrace it all! Soak up everything you can. BE A DAY MAKER EVERY DAY! Be open minded, never say no, work harder.
